We've been working hard to impress on legislators and candidates alike the importance of supporting a Clean Elections model of full public financing for campaigns at the state and national level. Momentum is building with more members of Congress supportive of Clean Elections than ever before.
Last year, a bipartisan bill was introduced for the first time ever that would create a full public financing system for Congress. Now it's time for you to put in your 2¢ -- literally and figuratively.
If you plan to make a contribution to a candidate for President, Congress, or other offices this year, please join your fellow Clean Elections supporters in adding an extra 2¢ to that donation to tell the politicians you support for full public financing of elections.Your extra 2¢ is sure to catch the eye of your candidate's campaign. Meanwhile, we'll let the world know what that 2¢ means.
We want candidates to hear about it, we want Clean Elections supporters to hear about it. We want voters who are fed up with the status quo in Washington and want to stand up for an end to big money politics to hear about it
Whether you make your donation by mail, online, or even over the phone you can participate in this effort. If the donation form you use has room for comments, be sure and add a statement explaining that this 2¢ represents your support for Clean Elections.
