Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) spoke to Public Radio International about where politicians receive their campaign cash from.
"I favor a kind of public financing of campaigns ... campaign finance reform that would help get some of that big money out of politics," Polis said. “But until that occurs, it should not be a surprise to anybody that a lot of contributions come into Colorado from out of state." Mike Coffman, Colorado's secretary of state, has this article in today's Coloradoan on his office's new policy whereby all candidates will be required to file their campaign finance reports online. Online disclosure increases the transparency of campaigns by making information about how campaigns are funded available to the public in a faster, more searchable format.
