This weekend, I got the privilege to participate in the Mobilize.org [1] grant summit. Their theme this year is money and politics--how do you reduce the role of money or even make it a less important part of the process.

Five groups have submitted their proposals to reduce the influence of money in politics in the hope of receiving a grant from the organization to fund their work. From the larger democracy standpoint (a one stop shop for information on absentee voting [2]) to passing Clean Elections for judicial races in Pennsylvania, there are lots of interesting and innovative ideas here.

On the right is a picture of the panel held Saturday on strategies for passing Clean Elections that I spoke on with Matt Stempek from Americans for Campaign Reform [3], Josh Zaharoff with Common Cause [4], and Public Campaign alum and current Sunlight Foundation [5] consultant Nancy Watzman.

Mobilize is doing some great work, check them out! [6]
