Hugh Espey of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement writes to [1] the Des Moines Register urging Iowa House Appropriations Committee Chair Rep. Jo Oldson to take action on two bills -- one on factory farms, and one, House File 805, to bring full public financing to Iowa's legislative elections.

From Espey's letter:

HF 805 would take the influence of big money out of politics. In other states that are using clean elections, more people are voting, more everyday people are running for office and political candidates are spending more time with voters. We need policies that benefit the common good, not the select few. We hope Rep. Oldson feels the same way.
