CAMPAIGN-FINANCE REFORM

If you are interested in public financing of political campaigns, I encourage you to read my article titled "REAL CAMPAIGN-FINANCE REFORM", which was printed on OpEdNews.com on May 2, 2008. In this article, I suggest a source of revenue for public financing of political campaigns that also reduces the undue influence of large donors.

"Clean Elections" a WINNER

Ask the states that have it. I live in Maine and the difference is dramatic. The tone of campaigns has changed, "unwholesome influences" are being squeezed out, and campaign rhetoric is more issue based. Haven't seen evaluations yet, but I'd bet that our legislative process is improving and will continue to improve steadily. Nobody here would want to go back to the old mode.

Fair and Clean Campaigns

I have been supporting fair and clean elections by contributing to candidates who support the issue in which I believe. Democratic candidates like Barack Obama, and now John Edwards are accepting contributions from the public and not special interests. I like Hilary Clinton as well, but she does appear to be a business as usual candidate by beginning her campaign raising a large sum froming special interest contributors. We the people have to take our government back from lobbyist representing large corporation, who are working for the their stock holders and the bottom line, not always in the public interst..

Pennsylvania Clean Elections

Hi Katie,

I am interested in learning more about clean elections. I am starting an organization and I would like to make clean elections a vital component of the organization. If you could contact me and let me know how I could go about getting more information or training on the process I would appreciate it. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Just 6 dollars

I have run into another outfit called just6rodollars that seems to be working on public campaign financing at the national level. They seem to be very responsive. What do you know about them?
