On contested elections

Putting more money into the system actually makes elections more decisive. This argues against your fascist proposal. Why should it be difficult to weed out inferior and dishonest canidates. McCain has certainly benefited from his own legislation, because he would have been decisively defeated in the nomination process had he failed in campaign finance consolidations.

Obama's Lie

Obama just killed the credibility of public financing.

Politicians will support it when it works to their favor, and abandon it when their own special interests dictate.

CAMPAIGN-FINANCE REFORM

If you are interested in public financing of political campaigns, I encourage you to read my article titled "REAL CAMPAIGN-FINANCE REFORM", which was printed on OpEdNews.com on May 2, 2008. In this article, I suggest a source of revenue for public financing of political campaigns that also reduces the undue influence of large donors.

Campaign Finance

Like so many Missourians who believe in transparency in government, it is our hope SB1038(campaign contributions)will die this session. It keeps being moved on the calendar behind more important legislation and with one week remaining, perhaps it will be a dead issue.......this year.

when corporations give huge "donations" to political candidates, that candidate is going to owe somebody something down the line... it's a broken system, but what are you gonna do?

Though I do not live in Tennessee I plan to move there soon. I am "just checking things out" so to say. What do you think of limited terms. Don't leave them up there long enough to become corrupted.

Clean Elections throughout America

I take exception to the U S Supreme Court's ruling that MONEY is a form of FREE SPEECH. Money has badly corrupted the entire election process. Money must not be permitted to distort election results. The Supreme Court's decision can be changed by congressional action and the sooner the better.
Cities and states all over America are deciding to take money out of politics by opting for Public Financing. This movement must be encouraged until Clean Elections cover the map of America. Such action will restore democracy to the people.
We must stop permitting our elected officials to be bought and owned by Special Interest Groups!
