They are only meaningful if all candidates, at every level of publicly-elected government are required to use only public funds.</description>

 <title>North Carolina Papers on Board</title>

 <description>As the North Carolina Senate moves to take up the Council of State Voter-Owned Elections pilot project just passed by the house, the bill is getting positive press mentions in several papers.  Here are a couple from the &lt;em&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.newsobserver.com/opinion/editorials/story/654743.html&quot;&gt;Raleigh News and Observer&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/em&gt; and the &lt;em&gt;&lt;a href=&quot;http://www.citizen-times.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200770730066&quot;&gt;Asheville Citizen-Times&lt;/a&gt;&lt;/em&gt; both urging the Senate to pass the bill.  It&amp;#39;s likely to be quite a close vote, so this press support is great -- and remember if you live in North Carolina to give your state Senator a call!</description>
