Murvale Moore, writing in the Lincoln Journal, expresses surprise at newly elected Massachusett's Governor Deval Patrick's alliance with big business to cover the costs of his inaugural celebration. Moore calls on Patrick to work to end the influence of big donors by embracing Clean Elections reform.

Massachusetts voters passed Clean Elections for the state by a considerable margin in 1996, unfortunately the legislature blocked funding for it and repealed the law. Now they have a partial public funding system for the gubernatorial race where candidates agree to $1.5 million limits in the primary and general elections, but are released from the limits if not all candidates are participating. Will Patrick take up the cause again?
