Justice Ginsburg: SCOTUS will reverse itself on Citizens United decision
The Supreme Court will eventually reverse itself on Citizens United v. FEC, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg told Katie Couric in a recent interview for Yahoo! News.
Asked about the decision in which the Supreme Court gave corporations and other interests near-unlimited ability to influence elections, Ginsburg said, "I can't say anything more about Citizens United than read the dissent. You know we have a great tradition in our country of justices who disagree with the Court's opinion, explaining why they disagree. Many of those dissents are now unquestionably the law of the land."
Asked by Couric if she believes the same will happen to Citizens United, that the Court will overturn itself, Ginsburg replied, "Yes, that is my expectation. I might not be around to see but that will happen."
