Submitted by mrober@publicam... on Wed, 02/27/2013 - 16:04

Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act is at SCOTUS today. We'll be out front of the Court rallying in support of voting rights, keeping our fingers crossed. WaPo editorial, LA Times editorial, op-ed from Sensenbrenner and Conyers,

With the sequester deadline on Friday, and negotiations moving slowly, members of Congress are finding plenty of time to raise money--there are at least 40 events this week. Our report.

"Florida Sen. Marco Rubio is moving swiftly behind the scenes to lock down some of Wall Street’s biggest donors ahead of the 2016 presidential race." Politico: Jim Messina to open consulting firm
"Jim Messina, campaign manager for President Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection bid and one of the most influential figures in Obama world, is opening a consulting firm to represent progressive groups and Democratic campaigns. Messina will also remain chairman of Organizing for Action, the nonprofit successor to Obama for America, which was the president’s campaign committee."
