"Caravan of Corruption" Tour Hits New York
This week members of Public Campaign teamed up with Citizen Action of New York to go on a rolling "Caravan of Corruption" tour throughout New York state. The tour, which ran from Albany to Long Island to Manhattan, and six other locations, highlighted the corruption of 15 state elected officials.
Public Campaign's Johnny Papagiannis spoke at many of the events, imploring the audience to urge Gov. Cuomo (D) to pass Fair Elections campaign reform. "It would send a huge message to the rest of the country, particularly with the reputation that they have here, and one of the financial centers of the world where so much money is thrown around," Johnny told the crowd. "Doing something like that here would let other states know this can work and it would also send a big message to Congress."
The Caravan of Corruption has been widely covered by the press, including the Wall Street Journal, NBC New York, and the Albany Times Union.
