Here's a recap of Public Campaign and Public Campaign Action Fund's (PCAF) work from December 5 through December 9, 2011.

• Coincidence? I think not. Just a day after voting with Wall Street in blocking the nomination of Richard Cordray to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), an agency created as part of the Wall Street reform legislation passed by Congress in 2010, Sens. Pat Roberts (R-Kansas) and John Thune (R-S.D.) jetted off to New York for big money fundraisers.Will they be getting their rewards from the Wall Street types who don’t want to see a functional and strong CFPB? Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.) got into the act too.

• Gaming the system. Public Campaign released a new report, For Hire: Lobbyists or the 99%, which shows how corporations, by paying huge amounts of money for Washington, D.C. lobbyists, are able to pay little, if any taxes. While the 99% continues to struggle, corporations and their 1% executives have got our broken system down pat.

• "Is it you or your parents in this income tax bracket" Republican presidential candidate, Buddy Roemer, who is basing his longshot candicacy on fighting big money interests that he rightly claims have a stranglehold on Washington, D.C., went after fellow candidate Jon Huntsman for his close (read: paternal) ties to Our Destiny PAC, a Super PAC that is believed to be heavily funded by Huntsman's own father. Keep your friends close, and your big money Super PAC fundraisers closer.

• Consumers or Wall Street donors? Ahead of the vote on the nomination of Richard Cordray to lead the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), PCAF released this background memo on the full Senate and their Wall Street campaign money.

• Money talks. On Monday, PCAF caught wind of Sen. John Thune's (R-S.D.) Friday New York fundraiser, and crunched some campaign fundraising numbers. Thune will likely be adding to his Wall Street campaign cash warchest. Quid. Pro. Quo.

• Walking the walk. Last Friday, Rep. Donna Edwards (D-Md.) addressed some Occupy protesters outside a fundraising event. She stands with the 99%, and backed it up with a shout out to the Fair Elections Now Act.
