Here's a round-up of Public Campaign and Public Campaign Action Fund's work for the week of July 11-July 15, 2011.

• From the horse's mouth...Public Campaign was on Capitol Hill on Tuesday, and caught up with Fair Elections Now Act sponsor, Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.). Check out the interview here.

• Enough campaign cash to get an apology? On Thursday, after the Silvertip Pipeline oil spill in Montana, ExxonMobil president, Gary Pruessing, testified before the House Subcommittee on Railroads, Pipelines and Hazardous Materials. Public Campaign Action Fund crunched the numbers and wondered if the the ExxonMobil PAC money recieved by committee members would bring on an apology like we saw last year with BP.  

• $86 million here. $86 million there. Eh, just another fundraising quarter in what will be the most expensive campaign in our history. On Wednesday, President Obama released his record-shattering fundraising numbers for the 1st quarter. Public Campaign Action Fund blogged on the massive fundraising haul.

• Ah, to be young again. Public Campaign sent our two able-bodied interns to the 7th annual Campus Progress National Convention last week. Here's a recap of the event.

• Defending Wall Street, one campaign contribution at a time. Elizabeth Warren, Special Advisor to the Secretary of the Treasury on the Consumer Protection Financial Bureau, appeared before the House Committee on Oversight and Government on Thursday. The last time Warren appeared before a congressional committee, she was badgered by some members (one even called her a liar). And it just so happens that those committee members were huge beneficiaries of Wall Street money. Public Campaign Action Fund issued this background memo on the Oversight Committee and their Wall Street campaign cash.

• Rupert Murdoch's Fox in a hen house? Public Campaign Action Fund, along with other groups, launched a campaign on Tuesday calling on members of Congress to stand up to scandal-ridden News Corp.'s (Fox News parent company) campaign money, and call for an investigation into whether any Americans were targets of the shameful and illegal phone hacking perpetrated by the British media conglomerate. • Gee, I wonder who picked up the tab. Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) was spotted last weekend enjoying some decent $350 wine with what turned out to be a major (and uber-wealthy) conservative political player. Public Campaign Action Fund uncorked the story behind the man who wined and dined with Ryan. Less important, but nonetheless intriguing, is whether "boy wonder" Ryan was carded before imbibing on the pricey wine.

• If at first you don't succeed, lobby, lobby...someone else. Public Campaign Action Fund offered this blog post on Wall Street's shifting lobbying tactics.
