Fair Election Now Act Re-introduced in Congress

Submitted by mrober@publicam... on Wed, 04/06/2011 - 17:46

Today the Fair Election Now Act was re-introduced into the 112th Congress. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) was joined by Reps. John B. Larson and Chellie Pingree, as well as actor Alec Baldwin, in a press conference announcing the legislation.

"It's an open secret that money from lobbyists, corporations, and wealthy donors buys access and influence in state capitols and here in Washington, D.C.," Baldwin noted. "It's time to reduce the influence of corporate lobbyists and special interest money. It's time that politicians listened to the people who elected them, so therefore it's time for Fair Elections."
