Charlie Cooper, a member of the Balitmore MoveOn Council, argues that corporate influence has put a stranglehold on the media, elections, and policy-making. He suggests passage of the Fair Elections Now Act and lobbying reform to alleviate these woes."Corporate power thwarts nearly every aspect of these reforms and is a more important factor in our woes than those discussed ad nauseam by media pundits and Republican or Democratic partisans."...Historically, government created corporations for the public good — to allow more efficient flows of capital and to serve public purposes.
