Country needs Fair Elections

Submitted by Brian Allison on Mon, 07/12/2010 - 17:44

Alex Kaplan of Common Cause Pennsylvania issues a call for the end of the tradition of big moneyed special interests funneling millions into our legislators' campaign coffers in this Letter to the Editor in this Sunday's edition of The Times Leader.

  •  "The average cost of winning a congressional seat is $1.4 million, with much of it coming from lobbyists, oil executives, insurance companies and other special interests that have profit, not people, first in mind," says Kaplan.
