A Way to Empower Small Donors

Submitted by Monica Rober on Wed, 06/23/2010 - 20:57

The executive director of Progress Florida and the campaign manager for the Fair Elections campaign teamed up in a letter to the editor in the St. Petersburg Times urging Congress to empower small donors through the Fair Elections Now Act."As the U.S. Supreme Court continues to side with wealthy special interests over everyday Americans, Congress must respond boldly by creating a political system that empowers small donors and makes Congress accountable to us. "The most effective and comprehensive solution is the Fair Elections Now Act (HR 1826), bipartisan legislation that would sever the ties between members of Congress and their special interest donors."Click here to read the full letter.
