The Wall Street Blame Game

Submitted by Monica Rober on Wed, 04/21/2010 - 14:31

The blame game of who has the most ties to Wall Street continues to rage on while both parties raise campaign cash from the infamous industry. The Wall Street Journal reports:"Lawmakers in both parties have been raising hundreds of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Wall Street in recent months, offering the industry access to members of Congress who are working on legislation that could alter the rules for American finance."While much has been made of who is closer to the financial industry in recent weeks, the real problem speaks to the bigger issue of money in politics and how special interests are able to influence Congress. As questions of ethical integrity crop up, it becomes increasingly apparent that it's time to get big money out of politics and pass the Fair Elections Now Act.
