Submitted by Monica Rober on Thu, 03/04/2010 - 14:47

Yesterday, the West Virginia House of Delegates passed H.B. 4130, a bill that would enact a pilot program for public financing in state Supreme Court elections."House Bill 4130 was drafted at the request of Gov. Joe Manchin. It would create a public finance program for Supreme Court candidates that would be test-piloted during the 2012 election season. It passed the House March 3. The bill would allow qualifying candidates to receive up to $200,000 in public campaign money during a primary election if they are in contested races and $50,000 if they are in uncontested races. During the general election, they can receive up to $350,000 in contested races and $35,000 in uncontested races."Click here to read the full article.
