The National Journal reports that campaign finance reform advocates believe that the impending U.S. Supreme Court decision on Citizens United v. FEC will boost the prospects for passage of public financing of elections."...[T]he ruling's big impact, [Common Cause's Bob] Edgar and other reform advocates are convinced, will be to boost support for public financing.Common Cause is one of more than half a dozen advocacy groups that have joined in a coalition to push for passage of the Fair Elections Now Act, a congressional public financing bill that has 126 backers in the House and six in the Senate. The bill would provide matching payments for qualified small-dollar contributions." Click here to read the full article.
