NYT Letter to the Editor: "No Need to Woo Donors"

Submitted by Monica Rober on Fri, 01/08/2010 - 17:33

Public Campaign Action Fund National Campaigns Director, David Donnelly, has a letter to the editor in the New York Times today in response to an article on the recent retirement announcement by Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.)."Senator Christopher J. Dodd’s retirement "frees him from having to woo donors' and may make him a stronger leader in pursuing overhaul of Wall Street’s ways ('Will the Real Chris Dodd Stand Up?' editorial, Jan. 7), but, unfortunately, the other senators are still too reliant on financial sector cash for their re-elections. In fact, Senator Dick Durbin, a Democrat from Illinois, candidly said of the banks last year, 'They frankly own the place.'"For the full letter, click here.
