Big Banks are Back in the Game

The National Journal reports that after Wall Street's shake-up, consumer advocates still face an uphill battle as commercial banks have spent upwards of $40 million on lobbying in the first three quarters of this year."'Wall Street has exerted, so far, impressive power in framing the debate and keeping a certain set of very popular and, we believe, very appropriate policies out of the debate,' said Robert Weissman, president of Public Citizen, which is part of a coalition pushing for tougher consumer protections."To read the full article in the National Journal, click here.
