Submitted by Monica Rober on Tue, 12/01/2009 - 19:29

Today Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle (D) signed the Impartial Justice Bill into law providing voluntary public financing of elections for state Supreme Court candidates."The change could reshape the April 2011 race, in which Justice David Prosser is seeking another 10-year term on the court. There is no Supreme Court race in 2010.In December 2007, Prosser and the other justices on the court at the time signed a letter saying they supported 'realistic, meaningful public financing for Supreme Court elections to facilitate and protect the judicial function.'"
