Gov. Rell Calls For a Fix

Submitted by Monica Rober on Tue, 12/01/2009 - 21:22

Gov. M. Jodi Rell (R-Conn.) has called the General Assembly into a special session beginning December 15th to work on fixing the state's Citizens' Election Program."'There are already a number of candidates for governor and the legislature for the 2010 election who are campaigning and raising money under the public financing system. But because of the court ruling, they are operating under a cloud of uncertainty,' Rell said. 'These candidates should not have to wait for an appeals court decision, which we may or may not win, and have the rules totally changed for them midstream.' As a result, Rell says the legislature must change the law in a pre-Christmas session."To read the full article in the Hartford Courant, please click here.
