Wisconsin Needs Voter-Owned Elections

Submitted by Monica Rober on Thu, 11/19/2009 - 14:25

After the passage of the Impartial Justice bill in Wisconsin, an article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel calls for publicly financed elections of legislative races."But the wishes of big donors - from the right or the left - should not be foremost in our legislators' minds when deciding an issue. Allowing the public purse to finance campaigns will result in more legislation that puts the good of the state ahead of the enrichment of the few."Public financing also helps restore our faith in the political process and legitimizes the accomplishments of our better legislators."To read the full article, click here.
