But I Don't Want To Change!

Submitted by Monica Rober on Thu, 11/19/2009 - 4:59pm.
Dan Esty, the head of Yale's Center for Environmental Law and Policy, speaks about coal, gas and oil companies' reluctance to adapt in the face of climate change issues on American Public Media's Marketplace.
"He says the gas, coal and oil industries see their economic survival at stake and have spent big bucks to defend their dominance.

DAN ESTY: 'And they've done it in a variety of ways, traditional lobbying, creating kind of a false impression of lack of clarity around the science, and they've done it the old-fashioned way, with big campaign contributions.'"

It's terrible how the companies don't want to embrace change when global warming is upon us.

Californian laws are too harsh in my opinion. Requiring utilities to get 33% of their electricity from renewable energy by 2020 is not realistic.

California is out of control, its almost like living in another country. The government of California is coming up of new ways to tax the population to death.
