Illinois Governor Calls for Public Financing

The Illinois Reform Commission released its recommendations yesterday endorsing, among other things, public financing for judicial races. Gov. Pat Quinn (D), who appointed the commission to deal with the aftermath of the Blagojevich scandal, went further, saying voters should have the right to recall corrupt politicians and suggested public financing for political campaigns.
