In the wake of the Blagojevich impeachment, Citizen Action Illinois, along with Common Cause and Public Campaign, is working with lawmakers on a proposal for public financing of elections for statewide and state General Assembly races.  “We're trying to restrict the undue influence of the moneyed elite," said Sen. Jacqueline Collins (D-Chicago), who is working on the bill. "We just want to even the playing field and restore the trust.”
