Two Cents Too

Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Tue, 09/30/2008 - 21:11

As Congress continues to debate bailout legislation and hear from banking and finance lobbyists left and right it's more important than ever that they hear from you about passing the Fair Elections Now Act and getting big special interest money out of politics.  If you're planning to contribute to a candidate this year, be sure and add your two cents to show your support for Fair and Clean Elections. We launched this two cents campaign just a month or so ago and have already seen donors big and small adding that .02 on donations to congressional and Presidential candidates alike. With all the hubbub about Wall Street on the Hill these days, it's easy for Congress to forget that big money politics -- all those donations from the financial services sectors -- played a sizable role in getting us into this mess.  We need to remind them that they must address this side of the problem.  Give your two cents in support of public financing, and ask your friends to do the same.
