Honolulu Endorsement

Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Wed, 03/19/2008 - 18:42

The Honolulu Star-Bulletin likes the idea of a pilot Clean Elections public financing program for Hawaii County Council elections, seeing such a program as a worthwhile experiment in public financing that could go on to benefit other elections in the state. Voter-Owned Hawai'i has been spearheading Clean Elections efforts in the state and were successful in getting approval to propose a full public financing option for the County Council. Press on public financing has been picking up in Hawai'i -- good to see this most recent endorsement.
