Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Fri, 01/25/2008 - 21:53

Dolores "Granny D" Haddock, a pioneer in the fight to get big money out of politics celebrated her 98th birthday yesterday and got a birthday present in the form of her home state of New Hampshire passing a bill in its House of Representatives to create a commission to advise the legislature on creating a Clean Elections program in the state. The seven member commission would be comprised of citizens who are supportive of public financing and they would help the legislature put a Clean Elections policy together. The bill now moves on to the Senate. Happy birthday Granny D!
