More Support for New Jersey

Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Fri, 07/27/2007 - 19:31

Victor Negron of Hamburg, New Jersey writes this letter to the editor in strong support of the state's Clean Elections pilot program, heralding its leveling of the playing field in elections, and its efforts to reduce the influence of big money. In particular he calls out the comments Assemblywoman Alison McHose made against the system: McHose voted against the legislation to support the Clean Elections program. Rather than create an even playing field for all who wish to run for office, she would prefer to have a mile head-start in a two mile race, replete with big money supporters and special interests backing her.Although she expresses obvious contempt for the Clean Elections program, she is not above participating in it herself. One can’t help but wonder why she has chosen to do so. Her hypocrisy with regard to this matter is nothing short of monumental.  Nicely put.
