Portland Is Voter-Owned

Portland, Oregon is getting ready for it's second cycle of municipal elections where a full public financing option (the Voter-Owned Elections program) is available to candidates. The first outing for Voter-Owned Elections in 2006 saw two candidates, including an incumbent, participate and since then the Citizens Campaign Commission has worked with the city election office to make the law even stronger -- read more at Democracy Reform Oregon.
