More Candidates Qualifying in NJ

Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Thu, 06/21/2007 - 19:12

New Jersey candidates involved in the state's three-district Clean Elections pilot project are working hard to collect qualifying contributions to receive public financing. So far at least four have already hit their benchmark with more closing in. Assemblyman Bill Baroni (R), an architect of the pilot project had this to say after qualifying this week: "The clean elections process has been one of the best things I've ever done in politics. This is empowering both voters in the 14th District and candidates. We don't take money from corporations, we don't take money from big donors we don't take money from utilities, we just take money from small do nors, our constituents."
