Up of 100 civic organizations in the Queens borough of New York have joined together with Citizen Action of New York to pledge support for public financing of elections and other major campaign finance reform proposals put forward by New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer. Not content to have the state merely emulate New York City's 4-1 matching funds system for elections, these groups want Spitzer and the legislature to go all the way with full public financing of campaigns.
