South Carolina has seen Clean Elections legislation introduced every year since 2000, but this year's bill, introduced by Sen. Clementa Pinckney (D) is seeing more progress. A hearing of the bill in the the Senate Judiciary Committee prompted this article in The Times and Democrat with Pinckney expressing a hope that Clean Elections will restore trust in the state legislature.
