California Assemblymember Loni Hancock is back at work pushing Clean Elections legislation for the state, following efforts last year both in the legislature and by ballot initiative to bring public financing to statewide and legislative races.  The bill has already passed out of the Assembly Elections, Redistricting and Constitutional Amendments Committee after which it goes to Appropriations and then, if passed out, to the floor for a vote.
