Maryland Senate Hears Clean Elections Bill

Several of our staff and members were on hand in Annapolis yesterday as a committee in Maryland's state Senate began hearings on the public financing measure sponsored by Senator Paul Pinsky (D). The House of Delegates and Governor Martin O'Malley have already demonstrated support for a Maryland Clean Elections system, but the Senate has been more resistant. Maryland passed a public financing system many years back, but it was repealed after one election cycle.
