Wisconsin Campaign Finance Laws Critiqued

Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Wed, 02/21/2007 - 16:38

The Brennan Center for Justice has released a report pointing to deficiences in Wisconsin's campaign finance law, and making a series of suggestions to improve them including developing a campaign donation matching fund program to aid candidates facing better-funded opponents, implementing stricter contributions limits for both individuals and PACs, and regulating issue advocacy advertisements more strictly.  The Brennan Center, which defends campaign finance regulations in court and offers advice and counsel in formulating campaign finance laws, has most recently leveled sharp criticism at New York's campaign finance laws. You can read more on their work here.
