The Baltimore Sun editorializes in favor of the public financing bill being considered by the Maryland legislature, praising its goal to lessen the influence of big money and, in particular, the tax loopholes awarded to big political givers in exchange for their checks.  As the editorial notes, full public financing of elections in the Clean Elections model is already working in a handful of states -- it's also being considered by several more. It's practical, it's proven, and if the Maryland Senate comes through with support, it's within reach for Marylanders.
