Newspapers across the country this week announced the end of Presidential public financing due to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s (D-NY) decision to forego it for her campaign for President. Well, it’s no wonder when the system hasn’t been updated since 1974 and the $150 million candidates are able to receive under the system is pocket change compared to what’s expected to be raised and spent by November 2008.
