Washington Gov. Weighs in on Public Financing

Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Tue, 10/03/2006 - 19:21

Washington Governor Christine Gregoire has indicated she is interested in a public financing option for judicial races in the state. The subject of much discussion and controversy, Washington's judicial races are becoming a battleground for a great deal of special interest money. As part of a larger press conference on the upcoming elections, Gregoire noted conversations with Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano (who ran under Arizona's Clean Elections law, and is seeking re-election with it as well) about the possibilities of a public financing system.
