Push for Prop 89

Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Wed, 08/09/2006 - 20:56

Two strong articles today on the need for Proposition 89, the California Clean Elections initiative today. One on the real meaning of a Clean Elections option, the other on the mounting evidence that the pay-to-play system is out of control. Mike Kirchubel of Fairfield, California writes on the hope he feels for Proposition 89 and what it could do to restore voters rights. Meanwhile, Frank Russo examines recent news stories that highlight the influence money has on both legislation and the time of state legislators, who are again caught up on the fundraising treadmill that is election year.
