Ray Schell, writing in The Advocate, says Louisiana must have public financing of elections in the model of Arizona: "People say that we cannot afford to have public financing of elections. I say we cannot afford not to."

To put it plainly, without public funding of the political process democracy simply doesn't exist. Thanks for your generous comments. Let's stick to the goal of getting this accomplished in Louisiana. I see California is voting on the same thing as Proposition 89. I'll have to get a copy of Prop 89 to see how it reads.
