Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Wed, 06/14/2006 - 14:01

The Mercury News reports on Sunnyvale's decision to consider public financing of elections along with other reforms. Sunnyvale joins neighboring San Jose in examing the public financing option. San Jose's mayor, Ron Gonzales, has backed public financing and the city expects to vote on it before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the California Fair and Clean Elections Act is still being considered by the Senate even as a similar version is cued up for inclusion on the November ballot with the backing of the California Nurses Association.
