Republican gubernatorial candidate David Emery came in last in his primary last night behind two candidates he'd attacked for using the public financing system. Emery had advocated a repeal of the Maine Clean Elections Act, passed in 1996 and in use since 2000.
Chandler Woodcock, a supporter of Clean Elections running under the system, is the likely winner.
