California Clean Elections Bill Heads to Senate

Submitted by Katie Schlieper on Tue, 05/16/2006 - 21:48

The California Clean Money and Fair Elections Act, AB 583, which passed the California Assembly in January, heads to the Senate tomorrow. It's facing a difficult challenge in the Senate Elections Committee and we need to make sure Senate President Pro Tem Don Perata does everything he can to make sure this bill passes. Perata has publicly stated he supports AB 583, now we need him to put his full weight behind it.

Take a minute to make a call to Senator Perata at (916) 651-4009 or (510) 286-1333 and say you'd like to thank him for supporting AB 583, the Clean Money bill, that California needs his leadership on this issue, and to please do what he can to make it pass.

Already Perata's office has received a flood of calls - please make yours. It only takes a minute and the more people he hears from the more he'll realize he needs to support this bill.
