In her rounds on the Sunday shows this week Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) made a point of emphasizing her support for public financing of campaigns. Though she's gone on the record supporting such a program in the past, her recent debacle with donor/wanted felon Norman Hsu has perhaps prompted a more active level of support.

Newspapers across the country this week announced the end of Presidential public financing due to Sen. Hillary Clinton’s (D-NY) decision to forego it for her campaign for President. Well, it’s no wonder when the system hasn’t been updated since 1974 and the $150 million candidates are able to receive under the system is pocket change compared to what’s expected to be raised and spent by November 2008. |
