Jobs at Public CampaignWant to go to work every day and make a difference? Join the team at Public Campaign. We are working hard to pass publicly financed elections at the national, state, and local levels. The air we breathe, the food we eat, and the bills we pay are all affected by the amount of special interest money in campaigns. Public financing, or Clean Elections, makes elections about voters, not about well heeled donors
Deputy Director of Research and Communications
Job Description :
Public Campaign is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to sweeping campaign reform through enacting and implementing Clean Elections systems of publicly financed elections. Clean Elections, which is law in seven states and two cities, levels the political playing field by allowing political candidates to apply for a grant to pay for their campaign. To receive a grant, a person must demonstrate a broad base of community support by collecting a set number of small contributions—usually five dollars. Once qualified, candidates can no longer accept any campaign donations and must adhere to strict spending limits. As a result, Clean Elections candidates are more diverse economically, racially, and ethnically than the candidates who pay for their campaigns with privately collected donations. read more | 107 reads
